This article describes how the Taliban came to power, the rights women had taken away from them after the Taliban came into control, and how those rights being taken away from the women affected women's ways of living. Knowing how women in Afghanistan were poorly treated during the rule of the Taliban helps support why so many women and girls started to get depressed around this time.

Thomson, Sarah L., Greg Mortenson, and David Oliver. Relin. Three Cups of Tea. New York, NY: Dial for Young Readers, 2009. Print.
This book is about the adventure of Greg Mortenson. Greg Mortenson was determined dedicated his life to helping build schools for children in Pakistan and Afghanistan after getting lost in the mountains of Pakistan and wandering into a poor village, and being kindly welcomed by the village chief and his people. Greg saw the lifestyle of children in Pakistan and wanted to give them a better education. From this book I got quotes of women’s lives during and after the Taliban. I also got more of an overview about what the Taliban was, how it ended, and women's rights under the Taliban

A secondary source that describes Afghanistan during the totalitarian dictatorship of the Taliban and after the Taliban fell in 2001.This source helps support my thesis because it helps show how during the Taliban women were treated very unfairly. People tried to help women in Afghanistan to end the unequally between genders and help bring back all the opportunities that were taken away from women.
